Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

SQLtest is run by Slava Rozhnev, a private individual, who is responsible for the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at support@sqltest.online.

2. Information We Collect

You can solve tasks, read lessons and use the SQL playground without an account. When you sign in or use other features, we collect:

• Account data. If you sign in with Google, Yandex, LinkedIn, GitHub or VK, we receive your account identifier, email address and the profile details you allow during authorization. If you register with an email address, we store your email, name and a hashed password (never the password itself).
• Learning activity. Your solutions to tasks, SQL skills test results and grades, interview simulator answers and scores, achievements, favorite tasks, SQL playground snippets you save, the last page you visited and the time of your last sign-in.
• Submitted queries. When you check a SQL query in a task, an SQL skills test or the interview simulator, we save the query, the check result and the database error message, if any, together with a hash of your browser session identifier. We do this whether or not you are signed in. These records do not contain your account identifier, name or email (see section 7).
• AI usage. The number of AI credits used by each feature, to count your free and purchased limit. We do not store the text of your questions to the AI assistants in our database.
• Payment records. For purchases and donations: your email address, the amount, currency, purchased item and payment status; for Ko-fi payments also the name and message you entered there. We use the email of a Ko-fi payment to link it to the account with the same email.
• Technical data. Your IP address is used to limit repeated requests, for example password reset attempts. Our web server may also log IP addresses and browser information for security and troubleshooting.

3. How We Use the Information

• Providing the service: signing you in, checking your queries, saving your progress, test results and achievements.
• AI features: answering your questions and evaluating interview answers (see section 4).
• Communication: password reset emails and important messages about your account. We send newsletters only if you opted in when registering.
• Security: preventing abuse and protecting accounts.
• Improving the site: aggregated statistics on how pages and features are used.
• Datasets: building anonymized datasets from submitted queries and licensing them to third parties (see section 7).

4. AI Features

The lesson assistant, the playground assistant, the SQL error explanation and the interview simulator use the OpenAI API. When you use them, we send OpenAI the text needed to answer: your question or interview answer, your SQL query, the error message and the context of the task or lesson. We do not send your name or email address.

Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models by default. Please don't enter personal data you don't want to share into these features.

5. Payments and Donations

Purchases of AI credits are processed by Lava.top and Ko-fi, purchases of the interview simulator by Lava.top. Donations are processed by Lava.top, PayPal, Ko-fi, NOWPayments and CloudTips. Your card or wallet details are entered on the payment provider's side and never reach us; we receive only the payment record described in section 2. Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy.

6. Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Anonymized datasets of submitted queries, which contain no account data, are described in section 7. Otherwise we share your data only with services we need to run the site:

• OpenAI - AI features (section 4);
• Google, Yandex, LinkedIn, GitHub, VK - sign-in, if you choose it;
• Payment providers - payments and donations (section 5);
• Google Analytics and Yandex Metrica - usage statistics, if you allow analytics cookies (section 9).

Your SQL queries are executed on our own query service, sqlize.online. Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. We may also disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities.

7. Submitted Queries and Datasets

The SQL queries you submit for checking are saved in a separate log: the task, the query text, the check result, the database error message and a hash of your browser session identifier. The log does not contain your account identifier, name or email. While your session is active, the hash can technically be matched to it on our server; after the session ends, the records can no longer be linked to you or your account.

By submitting a query for checking, signed in or not, you grant SQLtest a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual and irrevocable license to store, reproduce, modify, aggregate, publish and distribute the query and datasets derived from it, and to license and sell these datasets to third parties, including for research, analytics and the training and evaluation of artificial intelligence and machine learning models.

Before a dataset is released, we include only ended sessions, replace session identifiers with identifiers unique to that dataset, round dates to the month and mask personal data that may appear in query text, such as email addresses, phone numbers and passwords. Datasets contain no account data.

Please don't put personal data, passwords or confidential information into your queries: automated masking may not catch everything. By submitting a query, you confirm that you have the right to submit it.

This section applies to queries submitted from 2026-11-02. Queries submitted before that date are not included in these datasets.

8. What Other Users Can See

• Achievements are public by default. You can hide them in your profile settings.
• Solutions. After solving a task, other users can see some solutions to it, including yours. Solutions are shown without your name or email.

9. Cookies and Analytics

• Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your settings. They are required for the site to work.
• Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), loaded through Google Tag Manager, and by Yandex Metrica (_ym_*), which also records click statistics. Yandex Metrica session recording is turned off.
• Managing cookies. You can allow or refuse non-essential cookies in the consent banner shown on your first visit, and change this later in your browser settings.
• Duration. Session cookies are kept until you close the browser; persistent analytics cookies for up to 2 years.

10. How Long We Keep Data

We keep your account data, solutions and results while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete this data within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where the law requires it.

The log of submitted queries (section 7) is kept without a time limit. It is not linked to your account, so it is not deleted when you delete your account.

11. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it or stop processing it, and you can withdraw your consent to cookies or newsletters at any time.

Because submitted queries (section 7) are not linked to your account, we usually cannot find them, give you a copy or delete them on request.

To delete your account and data, email support@sqltest.online from the address linked to your account, or tell us which sign-in method you use. We will answer within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

12. Security

The site uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the database is restricted. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes take effect when the updated Privacy Policy is posted on sqltest.online.
