Average Fare by Payment Type

For each payment_type value, calculate the number of trips and the average total trip cost. Output payment_type, trip_count & average_total_amount columns, show only payment types with at least one trip, and sort the result by average cost from highest to lowest.

About DuckDB

yellow_tripdata is a learning dataset containing New York City yellow taxi trips.

The table is useful for practicing filtering, grouping, sorting, date operations, and aggregate calculations in DuckDB.

All fields in this dataset allow NULL values. No primary key or additional constraints are defined.
